Ethan Colton (1808-1867) was born in Jericho, Vermont to Daniel and Sarah Larvey Colton. He moved as an adult to Covington, Louisiana. He married Melinda Mary Ann Pharis (1817-1887) and they were the parents of seven children. Descendants live in Louisiana, Oregon, California and other parts of the United States.
