Excerpt from Egyptian Delegation to the Peace Conference, Collection of Official Correspondence From November 11, 1918, to July 14, 1919 Our case is in the documents presented in this volume. We publish the correspondence between Rushdi Pasha, President of the Egyptian Council of Ministers, and his Highness the Sultan; between the Egyptian Delegation and the Foreign Diplomatic Representatives in Egypt, the foreigners resident in Egypt, the British Authorities in Egypt and England, the British House of Commons, the President of the United States, the American Senate, and the Peace Conference, through its president, M. Georges Clemenceau. We publish also evidence, supported by extracts from official records, affidavits, and photographs, of the atrocities committed against the unarmed Egyptian people by the British army of occupation. Names of those testifying are given, from High Judges and Governors of Provinces to simple peasants. The correspondence is all on one side. We have knocked at door after door, but have received no answer. In spite of the definite pledges given by the statesmen at the head of the nations which won the war, to the effect that their victory would mean the triumph of Right over Might and the establishment of the principle of self-determination for small nations, the British Protectorate over Egypt was written into the Treaties of Versailles and Saint-Germain without the people of Egypt being consulted as to their political status.
